The Literature Resource Center and the Contemporary Authors are available from the Osterhout Free Library's web page at http://www.osterhout.lib.pa.us/. In order to access these resources from home, all you need is an access to the Internet and your FREE Luzerne County Library System Card. Our license for the Literature Resources Center is limited to one user at a time and you won't be able to access this source if it is being used by other user. The Contemporary Authors is available through 'POWER Library'. In addition to these two sources, we also have Literary Criticism and Contemporary Authors in print format. You may also find some of the authors listed in the Biography Reference Bank available from the POWER Library.

Internet PC Reservation Self Log on

Osterhout Free Library has a new Self Log On system for the Internet Computers

The advantages of the new system are as follows:

No need to check at the Information Services Desk

Extended Internet time if the other computers are not being used

Reserve the next availalbe computer if all the if all the computers are being used

More control over downloading the docuements on CD or Flash drives

No need to worry about paying for unwanted printouts

AuthorFest 2007

AuthorFest will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 1:30 pm at Genetti Best Western. This is a ticketed event presented by the Tudor Bookshop and the Luzerne County Library System. Tickets can be purchased for $16 per ticket at the Osterhout Free Library and it's branches. Ticket includes Viennese Desert Table, a $5 coupon toward the purchase of books at the event and $3 donation to your library. To see the information about the authors, click on the Author Guide.

If you are not interested in attending the program, no problem. You can still contribute to the fundraiser event for your library and win fabulous prizes by buying raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are sold for $2.00 each or 3 for $ 5.00 and can be purchased at the Osterhout Free Library and its branches. Drawing for the raffle will be held on October 21, 2007.

icon on the right hand side. Create a username and a password. If you require a home access, your user name should be your library card number. Barnes and Nobles Bookfair

Support the Osterhout Free Library by purchasing items at the Barnes and Noble Bookfair. The bookfair is scheduled from Sunday, October 28 to Saturday, November 3 at the Barnes and Noble, 421 Arena Hub Plaza. Simply present the Voucher at the cash register at the time of the purchase and a percentage will be donated to the Osterhout Free Library.
