Do you need more time on the Internet???

Starting from August 11th, the Osterhout Free Library will open the gates of the Gates Computer Lab for public. On August 11th, the lab will be open from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. The hours for the week after that are as follows:

Monday - August 13 - 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Thursday - August 16 - 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Depending on the response, we will try to keep the lab open on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons as long as there are no library programs scheduled in the lab.

Several advantages of using computer in the Gates Lab:

- No time limit on the usage of the Internet unless other people are waiting.
- No need for user name or password
- Possibility of attending online classes
- Access to the headphones which allows listening to music
- Access to library resources
- Access to all the games available on YA computers
- Access to the printer
- Using Internet could be a family experience

The correct answer is All of the Above. The first multiptle choice on the list, Master the GED is a book available in the Osterhout Free Library's collection. The second option Orientation is a video which covers three introductory sections on writing, mathematics and reading. The third one on the list, Essential Words for GED is an audiobook available from the NetLibrary. Last one on the list is an article Ohio Students... available from the POWER library and discusses a modular diagnostic and prescriptive software program for self-paced instruction in math, reading, writing, science and social studies called PassKey.

All these sources are helful in getting ready for GED. In addition to these sources you can also try Learning Express Library an online source availalbe from www.osterhout.lib.pa.us for the online practice tests and e-books.

There are several advantages of using Internet in the Gates Lab. No need for username or password, unlimited access to the Internet (unless somebody is waiting), access to all the library resources, and kids games. You can play games, listen to music or make it a family expereience.

The correct answer is TRUE. You can access all the electronic resources subscribed by the Osterhout Free Library, free of charge from the comfort of your home. All you need is a Luzerne County Library System card. If you live in a Luzerne County the card is free and it is valid at all the branches of the Luzerne County Library System. If you don't have a card please fill out an application form and bring it to the library with any proof of the residency in a Luzerne County.
